The rock lobster sector is estimated to be worth half a billion annually to WA.

Lobster intervention a spiny issue

A government nationalising part of an industry in Australia; how can this happen? If the government applied the same logic to oil and gas, iron ore or farming and advised industry, the government would be taking up to 25 per cent of the resource base, and I sure we would have more legal action and protest than the state has ever seen. I'm in total shock that this could be seen as a good idea. Industry relies on government to regulate, not steal.
